3 year old's Birthday Hat

For a 3 year old's birthday who likes cars. I weaved a balloon hat out of white 260s and used glue dots to stick the number 3 balloon. The car I learned from Mike during a balloon jam. However, I made it larger by using a 360 balloon. It kind of looks like a VW Bug.

Birthday Party that Never Happened

This was an attempt at making something like Thomas the Train. I didn't have the right sized balloons. I tried to kind of weave a train. Didn't come out like I thought. The chimney should have been a black 360, but without the 360 balloon I weaved it with 260 balloons. It actually came out better than I thought. The roof of the engine should be larger. I made it the same size as the bottom of the train. The red railing I really had no attachment points so I kind of puffed out. Everything was attached at the bottom, so it did not center well. If I were to do this again, I think I would leave more attachment points. The front which you cannot see I thought was pretty cool because it was made from a round 7" balloon that I apple twisted the tip of a 260. So it kind of looked like a nose. I also have to think how to make wheels for the train next time. I didn't continue on because the birthday got canceled. Our friend's son got sick on his birthday. But the experience in trying to make it was fun. Anyway Happy Birthday you know who you are!!

40th B-day

This is for my friend's 40th Birthday. It was a surprise party at a ping pong club. So I weaved a balloon hat with 260. I made the balloon numbers of 40 and tied it around the joints in the weave. The ping pong paddles were made from a single red 260 and blue 260. The ping pong inside the clear tube was also made from a balloon that was wrapped back and forth. The idea for this came from a balloon Jam that Jeanine attended. Thanks Jeanine!!

Birthday Decoration

This was the first balloon column I made. I saw a you tube video and I learned from it to make these balloon decorations. The time to make it was quite quick, only after you have blown up the balloons. The toughest part is to blow up the balloons so they are the same size. It just looks better. While taking a class in balloon decorating, they used the Conwin dual sizer. This blows up balloons based on time and creates a pretty uniform size consistently. It also makes it easier to tie two balloons together. However, the cost is prohibitive if you only use it a few times.

Next time I would use a different topper. I think it might look better. I think using a mylar balloon or a really big balloon the effect would be even better. After the party was over, I gave the balloon clusters to the kids. They loved them, but they like all balloons no matter what the shape.
